What better way to spend Halloween weekend then by venturing to Whitby in North Yorkshire. The U.K. town hosted it’s renown biannual music festival for goths. And do you know who turned up? Why that would be…goths. But there is a connection; Whitby is a seaside town in northern England and the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula.”
The Whitby goth festival began in 1994 and attracts around 1,500 people to the town where Stoker found inspiration for Dracula when he stayed in the locale back in 1890.
Let’s check it out in photos from The Guardian.
